This year's Herts Hike will take place on Saturday 20 September. We hope that you will join us for this enjoyable walk through the attractive Hertfordshire countryside and help to raise funds for an Oxfam project improving the lives of rice growers in Tanzania.
Once again there will be a selection of circular routes (3, 7, 12 or 18 miles) from Wheathamstead, just north of St Albans.
For further details and the online enrolment form click here to view the Herts Hike 08 Welcome page.
So please put this date (Saturday 20th September 2008) in your diary now.

Herts Hike 2007 - Record Results !
Congratulations to all our walkers in 2007 and warm thanks to our sponsors and our team of helpers for the excellent results achieved.
A total of over £9,500 has now been collected towards Oxfam's River Basin programme .
We had a record number of walkers, 202 people, and they ranged in age from one year old to 101 years old. The Mayor of St Albans walked with us in the afternoon and then stayed to meet walkers and helpers at Mead Hall. The weather was again good and a very enjoyable day was had by all.
We recently had a fresh report on the flood alleviation work going on in the River Basin (India, Bangladesh and Nepal). Severe floods occurred last year and proved the importance of the Oxfam rescue boats. Circumstances are getting back to normal now and work is going ahead on flood shelters, wells, toilets and other projects.
We were invited to put an Oxfam tree into the Harpenden Christmas Tree Festival. The decorations were based on ideas and materials from India and Bangladesh. We are due to receive a further donation for the River Basin programme as a result of the Festival.
